Environment
The global economy has headed in the wrong direction since the first industrial revolution. We have followed a linear approach regarding how we use natural resources (extracting -transforming- manufacturing – using – discarding resources). To transform this tradition,Wise Steps Foundation undertakes action to promote a circular economy in rural areas through its environment program. One of the initiatives of this program is to build aR\re generative Center of Excellence as a hub for young individuals and marginalized groups in rural areas to learn, connect and grow to be regenerative leaders.
Wise Action
We collect discarded bar soap, toothbrushes, comb, linen, or lost & found items from partner hotels, preventing them from ending up in the landfill. A repurposing program for used products and distributing them to the community, bringing hope and dignity to those in need.
- Enabling hygiene through providing access to soap to communities who are lacking access to soap
- Implementing sustainable and circular value chain by repurposing used toothbrush, comb, linens, among others
- Repurposing lost and found items in a more sustainable way, beyond just auction
Rationale
- High number of unmanaged (organic) waste
- The need to promote circular economy best practices for youth and communities in rural areas
Beneficiaries
- Youth and Marginalized Groups in Rural Area

- Enhanced quality and professionalism of local resources
- Increased tourism services competitiveness
